Known Issues

  • Application windows' contents are not scaled correctly on HiDPI devices.
  • Application crashes on Windows 7 with an older Intel G43/G45 Express Chipset driver installed.
  • Antivirus software (ESET Nod32) may prevent from proper product activation on Windows 8.1 Pro x64.
  • Application may crash on machines with installed "Dell Backup and Recovery" tool.
  • Application may crash when the computer is restored from 'sleep' or 'hibernate' mode.
  • Application may crash when importing images into a project, when certain shell extensions are present in the system.

Feature differences between Mac and Windows version

  • Opening project files built with SmartAlbums versions prior to 2.1 will not be supported (future release SmartAlbums 2.1 for Mac will be able to save project files in the compatible format).
  • PDF export is not available in SmartAlbums 2.1 for Windows (coming in future releases).
  • PSD export is 'beta' mode in SmartAlbums 2.1 for Windows.
  • Cloud Proofing will not be available in SmartAlbums 2.1 for Windows release (coming in future releases).
  • Matted albums support is not planned for the SmartAlbums 2.1 for Windows release.
  • SmartAlbums for Mac has about 2x faster performance when importing images, and exporting spreads.
  • Design-time color profile management does not work in SmartAlbums 2.1 for Windows release (coming in future releases).
  • Importing images in ProPhoto RGB color profile is not supported on SmartAlbums Windows (coming in future releases).
  • ProPhoto RGB color profile export is not planned for SmartAlbums 2.1 for Windows release.
  • Legacy proofing export is not planned for SmartAlbums for Windows.
  • Quick Look feature will only be available on SmartAlbums for Mac.
